Towering Over other Trucks
The 2017 Nissan Titan XD is as powerful as it is imposing. The Cummins Diesel powered XD was awarded the title of “Truck of Texas” by the Texas Auto Writers Association for 2015. Texans know their trucks, and to be honoured in this way is high praise indeed. With its Cummins 5.0L V8 Turbo Diesel engine, the new Titan is a beauty, and a beast. It’s kicking butts and taking names in the half-ton pickup world, but keeps its cool with more sensible fuel economy.
Under the Hood
Under the hood is 310 horsepower with 555 lb.-ft. of torque in the Cummins 5.0L V8 Turbo Diesel engine, the backbone of the Titan XD. The Titan trounces over light-duty pickups while passing fuel-heavy heavy-duties. Balancing brawn and brains, the new Titan XD engine has a powerful, two-stage turbocharger giving you acceleration right from the get-go, yet it’s also outfitted with the modern Bosch HPCR fuel system and piezo-style injectors to deliver more precise and efficient fuel control.
A powerful engine in a half-ton means awesome towing power. And getting stability means building a gooseneck hitch into the frame. In Arizona trials, the Titan XD impressed critics by pulling more than 4.5 metric tons (5 imperial).
Towing is much easier in 2017 with the new Titan XD, thanks to the Nissan Intelligent Key doing the work for you. And with a rearview camera with Adaptive Guidelines, an Integrated Brake Controller, Downhill Speed Control, a Tow/Haul mode, and Trailer Sway Control, towing is as fun as it is easy.
Smart Side Profile
The 2017 Nissan Titan XD has a superior perspective when it comes to towing and safety. The Extendable Tow Mirrors make towing that much simpler, but the beauty here is with the Around View camera because it stays in the same spot, so your perspective and view won’t ever change. We told you the Titan was smart!
Through the Windows
The Texas Auto Writers Association also awarded the Titan XD as the Luxury Pickup Truck of Texas with its Platinum Reserve Interior. With a massive center console and smartly placed power sources throughout the cabin, you’re in full control of your Titan and connected with it on multiple levels. Leather-appointed front seats give you premium comfort for the long-haul, and you’ll feel like you’re driving with your feet up with such a spacious interior.
The center console might be massive, but you’ll have more than enough room in your Nissan Titan XD. The shifter to the steering column has been relocated, giving you even more overall space. With all the extra space you’ll have, you’ll always feel like you’re sitting inside a Titan.
Put it to the Road
The Titan XD can have big wheels to match its big personality, but because it’s so smart, it leaves the choice up to you. Choose from 17-, 18-, or 20-inch wheel and tire kits for your new 2017 Nissan Titan.
With a new, rugged transfer case for every gear, you get maximum power distribution and four-wheel drive for even the worst Canadian winters. Nissan bolted 14 inches (355.6 mm) of ventilated, hydraulically boosted braking power onto all four wheels, giving it incredible, reliable stopping power too.
The bigger, more powerful engine and burlier chassis in the new Titan XD gives it the backbone to pull the heavy loads. It’s what you can’t see that makes the Titan XD the truck other truck makers are scared of. With its 310 horsepower Cummins Diesel motor and built in gooseneck hitch, the XD can pull over 4.5 metric tons (12,300 pounds) without breaking a sweat. You don’t have to sacrifice comfort for all of that towing capacity though. The Titan XD is quiet, and swaddles passengers in luxury features – especially in the latest Texas Edition package.
