2019 Nissan Qashqai vs. 2019 Honda HR-V
When it comes to finding a sub-compact SUV that emphasizes versatility and comfort, two models stand out: the 2019 Nissan Qashqai and the 2019 Honda HR-V.
From the outset, let’s just say that these are two excellent urban sport utility vehicles. There are, however, a few areas in which the 2019 Nissan Qashqai stands apart from the Honda HR-V, particularly in terms of the equipment/price ratio.
In other words, the 2019 Nissan Qashqai and the 2019 Honda HR-V have a lot of things in common, but the Qashqai will give you more for your money.
The 2019 Nissan Qashqai Is More Affordable Than the 2019 Honda HR-V
The 2019 Nissan Qashqai starts at $19,998, almost $3,000 less than the 2019 Honda HR-V. The difference is certainly noticeable in terms of monthly payments. When it comes to features and equipment, however, both SUVs are roughly equivalent.
The Qashqai comes standard with heated front seats, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto features, and a rear-view camera. If you want more equipment, there's the Nissan Qashqai SV that comes with 17-inch wheels, a pedestrian detection emergency braking system, blind spot monitoring, and a panoramic sunroof for only $25,998.
You’ll have to dish out $28,600 to get a Honda HR-V that comes close to this level of equipment.
Finally, the 2019 Nissan Qashqai offers 19-inch wheels and the ProPilot driving assistance package with automatic lane keeping assist in its high-end SL version. This is something that the HR-V does not offer, even with Honda Sensing. The latter can prevent lane departure, but it does not automatically maintain the lane and cannot follow curves in the road.
The Qashqai SL offers all this for only $31,198, which is the equivalent of a fully equipped HR-V model.
Under the hood, both SUVs offer 141 horsepower from a four-cylinder engine and both models have roughly the same fuel consumption rating. It is therefore up to you to choose the model that offers you more for your money. In this case, you’ll find everything you need in the 2019 Nissan Qashqai.
